Giving Hearts Yoga Inc. is a nonprofit yoga community that is centered entirely around giving – to yourself and to others. We offer free/donation based online yoga classes weekly with the option to donate in a few different ways. All donations are, and will always be, completely optional. If you do not feel like you are in a place to give, know that you are not alone. This is a place for you to come and take care of yourself, to show yourself some self-compassion and love. If/when you feel like you are able to donate, we have you covered.
We have selected three charities that you can choose to make a donation towards. Our charities include: American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Innocence Project, and Connections for Abused Women and their Children. Each one of our charities seeks to improve the lives of people who are in heartbreaking situations where they need help. Read more about our charities here. Even if you can only afford to donate a little, know that there is no donation (over $1 due to transaction fees) that is too small! Dollars and cents can really add up to make a difference! We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and all donations are deductible to the full extent allowed by law, so start saving your receipts!
Times are hard, and many people may not be in a place to donate financially – that is OK! Donations need not be financial, you can donate your time, energy, and skills to do something kind for someone else! We would LOVE for you to share your story with us here or on Instagram, make sure to tag @givingheartsyoga on Instagram! Earlier we said that no donation is too small, that statement applies here as well. There is no act of kindness that is too small. Often it is the smallest acts of kindness that have the most profound impact on others, whether you are ever aware of it or not. Kindness is not only magic, it is contagious, let’s spread it out!
Giving Hearts Yoga emerged out of quarantine during the 2020 pandemic, which had left us feeling isolated, helpless, and wishing that we could do more to help people. It changed everything, including yoga as we knew it. Yoga is a tool that has enabled many to find peace within themselves and get through their worst days, but in-person yoga class options have dwindled and some have even disappeared, so that we could protect those around us. During these uncertain times, people need yoga more than ever and we want to utilize yoga to help people in need.
With the seemingly never-ending string of tragedies attendant to this past year, it is easy to feel down, like everything is just covered in mud. Giving Hearts Yoga was formed to create a place where people could come together as a community, wherever they are, and try to do something good for themselves and others. It is our sincerest hope that this platform be an avenue for people to channel their inner lotus flower to make something beautiful out of a bad situation, because the beautiful lotus flower only emerges out of the hard times, out of the mud.
Whether this pandemic has left you feeling empty with little to give or helpless and wishing that you could do more, let Giving Hearts Yoga be a refuge for you. Let’s see if we can try to do something good, together.
